Participating in the crypto market is an inherently political act according to Cardano (ADA) creator Charles Hoskinson. Charles made the statement during a Q&A session he was conducting on YouTube.
Crypto disruptions will get pushback
During the session, Charles argued that the disruptions being brought about by crypto in various industries will no doubt spark resistance and friction. He does not expect those that are used to the traditional way of doing things, to just roll over willingly. The struggle to put crypto in the mainstream according to Charles, can, therefore, be regarded as political.
In that spirit of struggle, Charles urged those in the crypto community to take action and resist against any moves by regulators to crack down on encryption. Center to Charles’ assertion of crypto being political is the fact that it seeks to take the control of money out of the hands of governments and to the people. He also emphasized crypto’s political nature by pointing out to the disruption it seeks to bring to monetary commodities. According to him, “money is the biggest influence of all of politics” which means that crypto is right there in the thick of it.
Aside from the push back that is set to come when crypto really begins to impact the world of money, Charles pointed out that the technology was set to change more than just money.
“Everything has to change: trade changes, property rights change, business change, the business structure changes, laws change.”
Plans to reign in on encryption
Despite crypto’s obvious benefits, there are those within the current mainstream system that want it gone. Charles was quick to point to exactly they are; “There are people in the Senate and the Congress today in the United States and all around the world who want to ban crypto.” He concluded with a call to action for all those in the space.
“If you’re in this industry, what do you do? Do you just roll over like a dead dog and say, ‘It was a lot of fun okay, alright, whatever.’ No, I’m sorry, You have to have an opinion. You have to fight for the right things.”
