Unless you have been living under a rock you have probably heard of cryptocurrencies. Crypto has been rocking the headlines the past two years or so with investors and enthusiasts raving about various crypto tokens. A lot of consumers though feel a bit lost. A lot of consumers have great difficulty when it comes to researching and learning about cryptocurrencies. Coinbase has realized the consumer need for good information when it comes to cryptocurrencies. In a statement on the Coinbase blog, they stated that they were well aware of the consumer need for trusted information sources. Coinbase through their statement promised to offer educational tools and resources that would help consumers navigate the world of crypto effortlessly.
The post on the Coinbase blog revealed that the firm was about to begin testing for new ways for customers to view the top 50 cryptocurrencies by market capitalization. This is designed to be a starting point, as consumers are eased into the crypto education. Customers will be able to see information such as historical trading data of the asset, asset description, current market cap, and relevant project white papers. These asset information pages will be based on the current market caps and are meant to be a resource for customers. Coinbase made sure to emphasize that the information on the asset information pages would only be for educational purposes and not for the promotion of any of the crypto assets.
The Coinbase post also reiterated the firm’s commitment to making crypto trading easy for everyone. According to Coinbase, in order to make crypto transactions easier for consumers, it is important to empower them with as much crypto knowledge as possible. Coinbase recognizes that a lot of the digital assets that will be displayed on the educational material on their asset information pages will not be available on the platform. However, the company is committed to giving as much information on those crypto assets as possible.

These educational pages will only be available to a small number of users for now according to the Coinbase post. Coinbase will, however, work on making them available to more users in the near future.

The assets displayed on the informational pages are purely for educational purposes and not for support buying and selling of specific assets in the future. Any plans to support new assets will be communicated on Twitter and officially via the Coinbase blog.
