So, the Ministry of Education of El Salvador and the nonprofit nongovernmental organization Mi Primer Bitcoin (MPB) entered into a partnership. The pinnacle of this partnership is that they want to introduce Bitcoin education into the curriculum of schools in the country. So, this is to help further amplify the message about Bitcoin and teach younger generations about innovative technologies.
- John Dennehy, the founder of MPB, confirmed the recent development while speaking to Cointelegraph. According to him, the initiative of this program was to spread the message of the crypto industry through Bitcoin education. So, the new courage course entering the El Salvador curriculum is The Mi Primer Bitcoin program. Dennehy says students who take part in this Bitcoin education program will get access to a diploma once done.
Beta Training in Bitcoin Education Kicks Off in 2023
- While El Salvador and the Mi Primer Bitcoin (MPB) plan for the program’s official launch in 2024, the beta training is ongoing. So, this training is for teachers to provide them with extensive knowledge about Bitcoin before the main teaching starts.
- According to John Dennehy, the founder of MPB, the training for the pilot program begins on Sept. 7 with assistance from Bitcoin Beach. Furthermore, those overseeing this project plan to integrate 150 public school teachers from 75 schools into the beta training program. After this training, these teachers will get qualification approval to teach Bitcoin education in their respective schools.
El Salvador Focused on Taking the Crypto Sector By a Storm
- According to El Salvador officials, this is just one of the many things they plan on doing to extend their interest in Bitcoin. In fact, the country is expecting many other countries across the world to follow in their footsteps.

So, Dennehy says two other governments in Latin America are keen on implementing the same style of education in their country. “El Salvador is leading the way with public Bitcoin education, and we expect other nations to follow. The world is watching,” Dennehy said.
