In the recent past, the ripple has dominated headlines not only for its prowess in the cryptocurrency market but also for the charitable campaigns that it has been fostering- for a while now. These recent financial move has seen ripple be recognized by celebrities and even the mainstream media. The latest of these developments took part just the other day when stakeholders in the organization, who are also personal friends to mainstream celebrity Ellen DeGeneres, made an appearance in her famous program- “The Ellen DeGeneres Show”
Now, ripples is a currency exchange system, a gross settlement system(real-time) and also a remittance network system created and owned by the Ripple company.it is also known as Ripple Transaction Protocol (RTXP) or Ripple Protocol and its intrinsic cryptocurrency is abbreviated as XRP(ripples). Ripple enables its users to securely transact finances of nearly any amount to any part of the world almost instantly without chargebacks.
During the show, prominent actor Ashton Kutcher, who is a stakeholder in the Ripple Company, pronounced that the company would be making a donation to the “Ellen DeGeneres Wildlife Fund” in line with their charity donations campaign. Kutcher was in the company of the famous manager Guy Oseary with whom they started a company known as A-Grade with the support of Billionaire Ron Burkle.
Putting ripple’s ethical values to use
In the show, Kutcher explained explicitly but in simple terms what ripple was and how XRP can be used to move value efficiently from point to another. He also talked about him meeting Brad Garlinghouse and Chris Larsen and how they intended to put to action the ethical values of the company by helping people who wanted to transform the world for the better but lacked the adequate financial muscle to foster their vision. The two had also met with Ellen almost at the same period where she also talked about her wildlife fund vision.
It is in line with this that the company found the Ellen DeGeneres Wildlife Fund in Rwanda eligible for the donation. “You are always thinking about anyone else. We wanted to show you that people are thinking about you. So on behalf of ripple, we would like to give you 4 Million dollars” remarked Kutcher. He went ahead to demonstrate how easy it was to transfer the funds from ripple’s account in the US to the wildlife fund in Rwanda instantly with a click of a button. Ellen DeGeneres was impressed.
This mainstream acceptance of ripples by high profiled celebrities is a clear indicator that the world might be ready to embrace cryptocurrencies moving forward. It’s just a matter of time!
