Top Indian auto company Mahindra, has sealed a partnership with edtech startup idealabs to offer Blockchain certification courses. The classes will be offered part in person and part through online webinars. Students will have to sit through on-campus classes for part of the time where they will learn about Blockchain foundations, smart contracts, decentralized apps, Ethereum, Hyperledger fabric and other relevant topics.
Rising demand for Blockchain competence in the industry
The partnership hopes to lead to a rise of new talent that can service the need for skilled people to occupy the rising job demands in the Blockchain industry. The official webpage for the courses notes that there has been a 290% rise in the number of Blockchain jobs over the last year. According to tech Mahindra;
“There is a huge demand for Blockchain talent as the scope for the technology is very wide, touching a variety of sectors like finance, healthcare, manufacturing, education, retail and telecom.”
Mahindra could also recruit some Blockchain talent soon as they seek to update the skillsets on their staff. Tech Mahindra’s Blockchain leader Rajesh Dhuddu said the partnership would present lots of opportunities.
“It will provide exciting learning opportunities for students and help Tech Mahindra with access to readily deployable resources on Blockchain”.
Blockchain jobs on the rise
A LinkedIn survey last year indicated that Blockchain job positions were on the rise. Demand for Blockchain knowledge has also gone up especially in the Covid-19 period. Just last month, an Australian research university, RMT University announced that it would add two more postgraduate Blockchain programs in collaboration with IBM.
