Basketball legend and 2 time Olympic gold medalist, Kobe Bryant, will be headlining the 2019 TRON conference as a special guest of TRON owner, Justin Sun.
Kobe Bryant will be giving a landmark speech to inspire young entrepreneurs and crypto investors while also encouraging them to embrace and invest in crypto-currencies.
The conference slated next year in San Francisco will see Kobe join a host of other A-list celebrities such as Kim Kardashian, Kanye West, Eminem, and Akon in promoting crypto-currencies. TRON owners see Kobe Bryant as a big enough influence to propel the coin’s popularity and adoption.
Crypto-currencies have received big boosts from celebrities such as Senegalese born American rapper and producer Akon. Akon recently created his own coin known as AKOIN, which will be used in his “Akon crypto city”. Grammy-award winning Rapper Eminem also gave a shout out to Bitcoin on his new album, “Kamikaze”. Popular Reality show star Kim Kardashian famously received a 1 Bitcoin gift from a popular crypto enthusiast, which went on to further popularize Bitcoin.
The use of celebrities to popularize coins seems to have caught on like fire, with Singapore based global crypto offering an exchange, GCOX has also seeking to give some clout to their token, “OWN” with the help of Liverpool legend and 2001 Ballon d’Or winner Michael Owen.
The crypto community also received a big boost when former US president, Bill Clinton, gave a speech at Ripple’s global payments tech conference.
Despite the headline celebrity endorsements, the SEC has issued a warning stating that “Celebrities using social media networks to encourage the public to purchase stocks and other investments may be unlawful.”
Despite the SEC’s warning, Kobe is still slated to light up the TRON crypto summit next year, where a lot of young entrepreneurs and investors will be congregating
