Ocean Protocol which is a decentralized data exchange protocol to unlock data for AI, have unveiled a list of strategic partnerships which will have the potential not only to bring significant change to the crypto sphere, but for the world of decentralization as a whole.
The Crypto Narwhal, who is a crypto enthusiastic at Tweeter highlighted 20 strategic partnerships that Ocean has entered into. Several of those partnerships will be briefly highlighted in this article.
What is Ocean Protocol?
Ocean Protocol was created in 2017 by BigChainDB founder, Bruce Pon, and AI and design expert, Trent McConaghy. Their aim was to take back control of big data from large corporations like Microsoft, Google and Apple, and instead allow it to be shared and monetized freely on an exchange.
Through blockchain technology, smart contracts, and tokens, Ocean Protocol connects data providers and consumers, allowing data to be shared while guaranteeing traceability, transparency, and trust for all stakeholders involved. It allows data owners to give value to and have control over their data assets without being locked-in to any single marketplace.
Ocean Protocol launched the Ocean Token in November 2017, along with its Marketplace Framework which outlines the market attributes and components necessary to deploy the decentralized Ocean Protocol data exchange.
Strategic Partnerships
Gaia-X project: this project is a collaboration between the European Commission, Germany, France, and several 100 companies. Among these Ocean protocol has placed itself among these 100 companies from the very beginning. The driving motivation behind the project being ‘data sovereignty’ it aims to the flow and storage and data under European control.
Associate of UN: Ocean has partnered with UN in working towards accomplishment of UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), where they were granted with an associate seat at UN. They intend to contribute by developing maximum-impact AI solutions in achieving SDGs.
Co-founder of MOBI: MOBI is a platform which revitalize the mobility services by using blockchain technology to make it more efficient. Ocean has been a co-founder of MOBI, and currently MOBI has entered into partnerships with numerous organisations.
BMW & GM: the car manufacturing giants have entered into partnerships with MOBI to make use of blockchain data to share data of self-driving cars, allowing unmanned cars into the road.
Zuehlke: Ocean Protocol is partnering with Zühlke, a service provider for innovation projects, technology and business expertise. The goal of the collaboration is to create solutions for pharma, medtech and life science companies that facilitate an open data economy for healthcare without losing control over the data.
Johnson and Johnson: J&J have partnered with Ocean to set standards and demonstrate on the way to use data safely without jeopardizing privacy and ownership within healthcare system.
Partnership with Polygon: Ocean has announced that it has partnered with Polygon, previously known as Matic, to integrate its smart contracts and market to the polygon ecosystem. The integration will allow Ocean Protocol’s users to save on gas fees at a time when congestion continues to increase on the Ethereum network.
Partnership with Oraichain: Oraichain, an AI-powered oracle solution has announced its partnership with Ocean protocol to integrate products, data, and services. Ocean protocol will also be benefiting directly from AI via Oraichain’s Mainnet, which launched back in February.
